2021 Open Trials and Open Sessions

2021 OPEN TRIALS AND OPEN SESSIONS

FC Durham Academy (FCD) is excited to announce the 2021 Trials and Open Sessions will continue Sept 28-Oct 8, 2020. 

Trials and Open Sessions are available for boys 2003-2012 and girls 2003-2011 for teams that compete in Grassroots, Pre-OPDL, OPDL and League 1 Reserve.

Trials and Open Sessions are held on the pristine Ontario Tech University/Durham College Vaso Field and the FC Durham Academy Training Centre.  Both locations are in Oshawa.

Players must be registered to attend a trials/open session no later then 12:00pm (noon) the day of their first session.  Registration is mandatory and walk-up players will not be permitted.  Current 2020 FCD members must also be registered for the trials/open sessions. 

These trials/open sessions will follow Ontario Soccer's Return to Play Guide.

who is FC durham academy?

FCD Pathway - FCD offers the highest quality soccer environment possible with U9-U10 Grassroots, U11-U12 Pre-OPDL, U13-U17 OPDL and League 1 Reserve for U17/U18 athletes.

Coaching - Our non-parent coaches will be of positive significance in our young player's soccer experience and lives and we expect the coaching staff to inspire and motivate in an atmosphere of respect and honesty instead of fear and intimidation.  The FCD coaching staff will work with our athletes and commit together towards EXCELLENCE! 

Development - At FCD, all teams work from a professionally designed curriculum delivered by experienced coaches with PROVEN resumes for high-performance soccer.

College Bound - Starting at U15 our athletes become perspective student-athletes and participate in our extensive and PROVEN college bound program.  FCD goes above and beyond to deliver this program which cannot be found elsewhere.

Focus and Attention - As a solely concentrated high-performance organization, FCD staff are capable of focusing on and providing the attention our athletes deserve and require to reach their objectives.

  1. verification email of the daily COVID-19 ASSESSMENT (on device or even printed to display date/verified)
  2. proper sized and pumped up ball
  3. labelled water bottle
  4. hand sanitizer
  5. white shirt
  6. dark coloured shirt

High-Performance Academy Teams Trials

The FC Durham Academy High-Performance Academy Teams from 2005-2008 boys and girls will operate under an extensive standards based program and act as reserve teams for the age groups OPDL teams.

OPDL Teams 2005-2008 Phase 2

Phase 2 OPDL Trials for players 2005-2008 will begin October 1, 2020 and may be attended by players currently registered  with an OPDL team of another OPDL organization, provided that the Technical Director has signed a TRIAL PERMISSION FORM which can be found at the bottom of this page.

LEAGUE 1 RESERVE/osl/owsl 2003-2004 TEAMS

The goal of FC Durham Academy for 2021 is to operate 2 League 1 Reserve teams of each gender.  Subject to change based on trials.  Phase 2 Trials will only operate if required. 

Target is to also operate a OWSL U21 team for 2003 and 2004 girls which will participate in the full FCD College Bound Program.

Covid-19 safety protcols

  1. Players must be registered for the trial/open sessions no later then 12:00pm (noon) the day of their first session in order to attend.  This is to ensure we do not go over the total number of people within the facility and allow our staff to prepare.  Registration is mandatory by all players, including 2020 FCD members.
  2. Players can participate in trials/open sessions within one region only.  FCD region is Durham, York, Toronto, Scarborough, Huronia, North York and East Central. 
  3. Players must be registered for 2020 Outdoor soccer in Ontario. 
  4. Players must complete the Declaration of Compliance and Informed Consent and Assumption of Risk Agreement which is part of the registration form for the trials/open sessions. 
  5. To ensure we do not breach the social gathering attendance numbers.  10 minutes after the session start time, the Field Managers will take a head count and permit spectators if possible.  If there are more spectators seeking entry then facility is permitted, no spectators will be permitted for that session.  We ask that all spectators respect this guideline. 
  6. If spectators are permitted inside the facility, they must remain on the east side of the fields and no exceptions. 
  7. Players and spectators must be wearing a face covering when entering the facility, when dealing with a Field Manager and until social distancing is easy.
  8. Arrive to check-in with Field Manager 5 minutes early.
  9. Players and spectators must leave the facility immediately following the completion of the session to allow staff to prepare for the next sessions and the traffic to flow safely. 
  10. Parking, entrance and exit for Ontario Tech Vaso Field is located at the north side of the field.
  11. Entrance to the ATC Indoor Field is from field level on the south side and exit is also field level on the east side.
  12.
