May 28, 2018 - FC Durham Academy would like to congratulate 2018 graduating Centerback Lauren De Jong on her commitment to Nipissing University. Lauren will be joining the Lakers in September playing in the OUA. 

Rocky Sasitharan our Girl's Director of Coaching says "Lauren is a tactically astute, ball playing centerback. Here since the inception of the academy, Lauren has grown to be one of the most committed players we have within the academy. She is extremely talented at dealing with balls out of the air and consistently makes great tactical reads that help position both herself and her teammates for success. Her team first mentality and her willingness to sacrifice whatever necessary for success makes her an integral part of any unit. Lauren's leadership ability on and off the field are assets that will help her in all facets of her life. We look forward to helping her prepare for her next steps at Nipissing University!"
