March 17, 2018 - FC Durham Academy would like to congratulate 2019 graduating Center Midfielder  Missy Balachorek on her commitment to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Missy will be joining the Vaqueras in 2019 playing in the Western Athletic Conference. 

Missy is a ball winning destroyer in centermidfield, her ability to disrupt opposition attacking flow combined with her ability to help her team maintain possession makes her an invaluable asset. Missy plays in both our 2000 and 2001 programs and provides a much needed physicality for her teams. Her tactical acumen and ability to read the game allows her to be a catalyst in centermidfield. Her aptitude at covering for her teammates to maintain balance in team shape ensures that her team is never found in a compromised position. Missy has always been someone that works extremely hard in all her endeavours, her college search was about finding the right place where she could grow as a person and a student-athlete. Missy is constantly self-reflecting and evaluating her performances and it is her high standards that she lives her life by that brings her the success that has and will continue to achieve both on and off the field. We look forward to helping her prepare for her next steps at UTRGV!
