May 31, 2016 - FC Durham Academy's 2006 Boys participated in the 2016 Erie Memorial Day Classic Tournament on May 28th and 29th. We entered two teams  into the top two divisions, Premier and Challenge respectively. 
 

The boys participating in the Challenge Division went undefeated in the group stage winning, all three games as follows:

1) 5 - 1 vs PA CREW 05/06 BOYS-BLUE (PAW)

2) 9 - 0 vs EMPIRE UNITED EMPIRE U10 BOYS (NYW)

3) 5 - 4 vs TRI-COUNTY U10 BOYS (ON)

Unfortunately, the team lost in a close semi-final battle against TOLEDO CELTICS SC TOLEDO CELTICS 06 GREEN (ON) 2 - 3.
 

The boys participating in the top Division, Premier finished top in their group with the following results:

1) 3 - 2 vs SOCCER VISION ACADEMY SVFLAMENGO (ON)

2) 8 - 7 vs CLEVELAND FC U10 BOYS (ON)

3) 5 - 6 vs ARSENAL FC OF PA NAVY (PAW)
 

After the 3 tough group games the Boys turned the corner and left no doubt of their dominance in the play-off stages, winning their semi-final 10 - 1 vs CANFIELD (ON) and the final 5 - 2 vs ARSENAL FC OF PA NAVY (PAW), the team they lost to in the final game of the group stage.
 

Both teams' will to compete and ability to combine with teammates to move the ball around the park proved to be their keys to success.
 

Both groups represented FC Durham Academy with skill and class and we congratulate both teams on their success.
