On Wednesday February 4, 2015, 10 FC Durham Academy Female Student-Athletes signed "National Letters of Intent" for US College Scholarships for 2015.
FC Durham Academy's main objective is the development and preparation of players for the next levels and for most that is competing at the college level. In 2014, FC Durham had 7 female student-athletes obtain scholarships to US colleges with an additional 2 players advancing to play university soccer here in Ontario.
The FC Durham College Bound Program is extremely extensive and involves many different components beyond travelling to showcase events:
FC Durham Academy has one of the largest and maintained networks of college coaches in Canada and the United States. Consistently, year-after-year assisting players with reaching this target.
Congratulations to:
FC Durham Academy Girl's Director of Coaching Rich Hirst says "I am very proud of these girls and what they have accomplished on and off the field since joining FC Durham Academy. This is the next step in soccer, but also in life and I am confident they are all prepared to excel in college. It is exciting to see these girls using the sport they love as a vehicle to post-secondary education. Over the next 3 months, I do expect to see a few more of our talented girls reach this same goal."
